The TemplateVersionTracker is used primarily for keeping track of the template versions required for our utilities' source code (like Email Server, Mailer, etc).

By means of an INI file stamped with the Creator's Template versions, the Template Version Tracker template will check the versions stamped in the INI file and compare them to the versions that are generated when the programmer (who purchased the source code application) compiles the application.

If the versions that you are using are older than the ones that were used in the original source code generation, then a warning message will appear. It will inform you of the version that is required, as well as the version of that product that is currently installed. You will need to download and install the latest version of that product in order to compile the source code.

You will only need to do this if you are shipping source code and would like to ensure that the programmers purchasing your source code are using the latest CapeSoft products.

• Add the Activate_TemplateVersionTracker template to your global extension templates.
• On the Options tab:
  
• The INI File for version checking is used to check version numbers of the products. Enter the name of the INI file in which the version numbers of the accessories will be stored and the INI section. A combination of the file and section should be unique in order to ensure that each application has it's own variable checking section. A good suggestion would be to leave the INI file as the default, and the set the Section as the name of the product.
• The Creator's PC indicator is used to indicate whether this is the originator's PC or not. This can either be:
  - fixed to This is the Creator's PC (in which case version numbers will be written into the INI File for version checking,
  - fixed to This is not the Creator's PC (in which case installed template version numbers will be compared with those that are in the INI File for version checking).
  - Alternatively, the Creator's PC can be determined from an INI file in the developer's application directory. Similarly to the 'INIFile for version checking', you need to have a unique File and Section for each application using the TemplateVersionTracker. It's a good idea to use the CapesoftDeveloper.ini for the file, but make the Section a unique name like ProductNameDeveloper. In the creator's application directory, you need to have the following in the INI Section:
  
  DeveloperPC=YES
  
  The Check Mode switch is used to indicate whether the template is in checkmode (if set) or generate mode (if clear). This should be clear at the Creator's PC and set at any other programmer's PC.
  
  Note: You must NOT ship this INI file with your application source, otherwise the user's PC will assume that it is the Creator's PC, so no version number checking will occur.

   Answer: You have not shipped the IncludedAccessories.ini file with your application (or your application is in checkmode where as it should be in generate mode). This ini file must be installed into the application directory.
2. <ProductName>' is not included in the version compare file. Contact your application supplier
   
   Answer: Either you have not shipped the IncludedAccessories.ini file with your application (in which case a message will occur for each one of these products that the VersionTracker is trying to compare) - or else, you have shipped an old IncludedAccessories.ini file to the client - so it does not contain a version for that particular product.
